The Fifteen Thousand of Gettysburg (English)

Beginning

Melting of snow,
crimson cardinal
calling the bronze mate;
and claiming first, the place.

Speedily fleeting among
cherry pink branches,
red squirrel chasing one
and then one another.

Pink floating petals covering
the new grass,
shimmering from the sun light as
 diamonds,
and echo of the housefinch in the air.

Spring the new, the beginning,
here once more,
repeating the calling for the mate,
anxious for the answer, if it comes.
