بحزن كبير تلقيت نبأ رحيل الدكتور دوني جورج

أرى أن أكثر ما يتناسب والحدث الجلل أن أذكر ما طالب به المفكر الكبير جبران خليل جبران حينما أوصى بأن تُكتب على شاهدة قبره العبارة التالية "" أنا لم أمت ، أنا حيٌ مثلك ، التفت الى خلفك ستجدني أمامك "" هذا بالضبط ما ينطبق على المغفور له فهو سيبقى حياً بيننا بفكره ومؤلفاته ومقالاته وعلمه الغزير، سنجده دائماً حاضراً بيننا من خلال نتاجاته التي ستبقى مرجعاً للباحثين في التأريخ الآشوري. بالرغم من كون المغفور له كان يحمل كافة المؤهلات التي تؤهله ليتبوأ أعلى المناصب إلا أنه إختار العمل من أجل القضية الآشورية بصمت بعيداً عن اضواء الكاميرات ، وحمى المناصب وفوضى التصريحات.

في الختام أُعزي نفسي وأُعزي أبناء شعبنا الآشوري وعائلته الكريمة.
