THE ASSYRIAN NEW YEAR

Mar-25-2001 at 09:36 PM (UTC+3 Nineveh, Assyria)

THE FIRST DIMOCRACY WAS EVER KNOWN IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND HAD TAKEN PLACE IN THE ASSYRIAN NEW YEAR TRADITIONS.

FOR 6751 YEARS,THE ASSYRIAN NATION STILL CELEBRATE NEW YEAR ON FIRST OF APRIL!!. SINCE ASSYRIANS LOST THEIR POLITICAL POWER AT
THE YEAR 600 B.C.THE TRADITION IS ALLMOST CHANGED AND LIMITED TO AFEW SOCIAL ACTIVITIES THAT TOOK PLACE MISTAKENLY AT THE END OF THE LAST DAY OF THE HISTORICAL TRADITION ON 1ST OF APRIL.

HISTORY CLARIFIES THAT THIS CELEBRATION WAS BASED ON "FESTIVAL OF 12 DAYS " STARTS ON 21ST OF MARCH AND ENDS AT 1ST OF APRIL. THAT PERIOD WAS CONSIDERED A HOLY PERIOD",WHERETHERE THE FIRST DIMOCRACY WAS EVER KNOWN IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. THE KING ASKS HIS PEOPLE FOR FORGIVENESS FOR HIS MISTAKES AND MERCY FROM GOD, "THE MIGHTY GOD" NOT "IDOL GODS". BESIDES UNLIMITED FREEDOM WAS PERMITTED TO SLAVES WHOM THEY COULD BECOME MASTERS".

THE IDEA OF THIS FESTIVAL HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY OTHER NATIONS IN EUROPE AND LATIN AMERICA.
IN LATIN AMERICA PEOPLE STILL CELEBRATE WHAT DO THEY CALL "CARNAVAL".
THE WORD "CARNAVAL" ITSELF IS THE PERFECT TRANSLATION FOR "SEA SHIP" IN THE ANCIENT ASSYRIAN LANGUAGE IN BABYLON. "SEA SHIP" DESCRIBES A PART OF THE EVENT WHEN THE PREVIOUS YEAR SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE SEA BY A SHIP WHICH MEANS OF "FAREWELL", THEN THE EVENT STARTS WITH DANCES,PARTIES WELCOMING THE NEW YEAR.

WHAT WAS CELEBRATED BY ASSYRIANS IN BABYLON BEFORE 6751 YEARS IS CARRIED OUT IN LATIN AMERICA. FURTHERMORE DECORATING TREES WAS AN ASSYRIAN TRADITION AND WAS CREATED BY ASSYRIANS IN BABYLON BEFORE THOUSANDS YEARS TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR, WHICH IS NOW ADOPTED BY MOST NATIONS OF THE WORLD.

THE HISTORY SCIENTISTS THINK THAT THAT ASSYRIAN FESTIVAL REACHED EUROPE AND LATIN AMERICA THROUGH THE ANCIENT ROME.

OTHER NATIONS WHOM THEY CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR, THEY DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT THE ROOTS OF THIS TRADITION. BUT SOME LIKE PARSIANS "IRAN" THEY ADMITTED THAT "NUROZE" IS TOTALLY BELONG TO ASSYRIAN NEW YEAR TRADITIONS WHOM ALSO KURDS USE TO CELEBRATE..

THE SAD POINT IS, THOSE OTHER NATIONS WHOM PRESERVED THE RIGHT DATE OF CELEBRATING ON 21ST OF MARCH, ASSYRIANS TODAYS INSISTS TO RUN CELEBRATIONS AT THE LAST DAY ON 1ST OF APRIL WHICH MARKED THE BEGINING OF THE NEW MONTH NISSAN AND THE NEW YEAR.

FOR YOUR INFORMATIONS BE-NISSANEH DOES NOT NECESSARLEY MEANS MONTH NISSAN "APRIL" BUT IT MEANS THE STARTING DAYS OF FERTILITY AND SPRING SEASON WHICH STARTS ON 21ST OF MARCH WHICH ALSO MEANS CELEBRATION OF FERTILITY OF EARTH, TREES, AND HUMEN FEMALE "MOTHERS" AND THAT'S HOW SOME NATIONS CELEBRATES MOTHER'S DAY ON 21ST OF MARCH ALSO.

HISTORICALLY, ASSYRIANS CELEBRATED BE-NISSANEH DAYS THAT HEADING THEM TO CELEBRATE THEIR NEW YEAR AFTER 12 DAYS, THOSE DAYS THAT MARK BEGINING OF THE FERTILITY AND SPRING DAYS WHICH MADE ALL OF US BY MISTAKE FORGETING ABOUT BE-NISSANEH AND LIMITED OUR TRADITION TO SAY "KHA BE NISSAN DATORAYEEH" WHICH IS SOLELY MEANT THE ASSYRIAN NEW YEAR.

WE SHOULD CELEBRATE FROM 21ST OF MARCH UNTILL 1ST OF APRIL WHICH MEANS WE DO HAVE TWO TARGETS TO CELEBRATE, FIRST FOR THE BE-NISSANEH ON 21ST MARCH THENCE THE ASSYRIAN NEW YEAR ON 1ST APRIL.

BY CELEBRATING ON 21ST OF MARCH AND ENDING IT ON 1ST NISSAN "APRIL" WE SHALL RETRIEVE OUR HISTORICAL TRADITION AND GIVE IT OUR ASSYRIAN TRADE MARK.

Assyrian \ã-'sir-é-an\ adj or n (1998)   1:  descendants of the ancient empire of Ashur   2:  the Assyrians, although representing but one single nation as the direct heirs of the ancient Assyrian Empire, are now doctrinally divided, inter sese, into five principle ecclesiastically designated religious sects with their corresponding hierarchies and distinct church governments, namely, Church of the East, Chaldean, Maronite, Syriac Orthodox and Syriac Catholic.  These formal divisions had their origin in the 5th century of the Christian Era.  No one can coherently understand the Assyrians as a whole until he can distinguish that which is religion or church from that which is nation -- a matter which is particularly difficult for the people from the western world to understand; for in the East, by force of circumstances beyond their control, religion has been made, from time immemorial, virtually into a criterion of nationality.   3:  the Assyrians have been referred to as Aramaean, Aramaye, Ashuraya, Ashureen, Ashuri, Ashuroyo, Assyrio-Chaldean, Aturaya, Chaldean, Chaldo, ChaldoAssyrian, ChaldoAssyrio, Jacobite, Kaldany, Kaldu, Kasdu, Malabar, Maronite, Maronaya, Nestorian, Nestornaye, Oromoye, Suraya, Syriac, Syrian, Syriani, Suryoye, Suryoyo and Telkeffee. — Assyrianism verb
