The goal of the conference is to invite community activists to discuss Assyrian community networking ideas as well as Assyrian issues in general, in the context of the information superhighway.  Particular emphasis is placed on how to establish a networking infrastructure among Assyrian communities across the country and how the information superhighway might be utilized as an education tool, as well as for cultural and political activities.

Objectives of the Conference

To provide information and case studies on the types of Assyrian Networks that have proven viable and to study future projects.

To understand the emerging context and the social, economic, technical, political, and sustainability issues which characterize the challenges and potential for Assyrian Community Networking.

To help individuals representing Assyrian clubs, churches, nonprofits, foundations, businesses and media realize how to use the information superhighway to help advance the goals and needs of our community.

To discuss the possibility of establishing a committee who will act (or react) in timely fashion to issues of Assyrian concern as they may arise; also a discussion of the procedures by which such a committee would operate.

To assess the financial needs for the networking projects under discussion, and to consider their source of funding.

Community activists, regardless of their professional background, and including students, are invited to discuss community networking issues in context of the information superhighway and Assyrian issues in general.  The Conference seeks emphasis on how to establish a networking infrastructure among the Assyrian communities across the country, and on how the information superhighway can be utilized as a means for education, cultural and political activities.
