The guest of honour at this function is the Honourable Robert Carr (MP), Premier of New South Wales. There will also be a number of other guests and speakers. Amongst other guests there are a number of Federal and State members of Parliament, representatives of our Local Council, representatives of Assyrian organisations and churches from Sydney and Melbourne, representatives of other prominent community figures including the Greeks and Armenians, representatives of a number of university professors and representatives of the press and public media.
A special program has been prepared for this night to honour the survival of the Assyrian Genocide during World War One (WWI) under the Ottoman rule. This endured one of the darkest events of Assyrian history. On this night, we will also remember and honour the survivors of Semeli massacre and those Assyrian Martyrs who were executed or assassinated by the Iraqi Regime.
