Sargon O. Dadesho

Dr. Sargon Dadesho was born in Habbanyia, Iraq in 1948. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Iraq. He immigrated to the United States where he completed his undergraduate studies at the California State University at Stanislaus in Biological Studies in 1972. He continued his studies and received a Master of Science from California State University at Chico in 1973 and a Doctorate from Pacific Western University in 1976, both in Physiological Sciences.
All the while, Dr. Dadesho's motivation and driving force in all of his pursuits has been, and continues to be the hope of reclaiming the Assyrian national homeland, Bet-Nahrain. In his quest, he has been active and vocal in attaining a national homeland for the Assyrians through various channels.
In 1972 he founded the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party and the Assyrian National Congress where he has been President since 1987. Dr. Dadesho has also been a founding member of the Bet-Nahrain Organization (1974) and the Iraqi Free Council.
Dr. Dadesho has received several honors and awards from a variety of organizations for his dedication and accomplishments in aiding in the plight of the Assyrian people worldwide and has served as an Assyrian delegate to various conferences sponsored by the United Nations. He has authored countless articles in English, Assyrian and Arabic concerning the status of the Assyrian people: past, present, and future.
Publications by Dr. Sargon Dadesho include: The Assyrian National Question at the UN (1986), The Politics of Assyrian Nationalism (1988), Balaam: The Assyrian Prophet (1989) and Assyrian Literature (to be published).
Presently Dr. Dadesho is the Mass Media Director of Bet-Nahrain's KBSV-TV "AssyriaVision" and KBES-FM radio station where the Assyrian culture and cause is presented daily to viewers and listeners nationwide.
