YEREVAN (Armenpress)--The Moscow-based Text Publishing House has released the Russian translation of German writer Edgar Hilsenrad's novel "The Tale Before Death." Hilsenrad's book, which deals with the Armenian Genocide of 1915, was translated into Russian by Aleksandr Aslanian. The novel was first published in 1989. In the book's preface, noted Russian public speaker Aleksandr Bovin finds it regrettable that it took 10 years for the book to reach Russian readers. Bovin goes on by saying "This book allows us to grasp the powerful spirit of this ancient people and its determination to live, which allowed the Armenians to survive, resurrect, and experience a rebirth. The official Turkish attitude of forgetting the extermination of over 1.5 million Armenians, of erasing those pages from Turkish history, is monstrous. Nevertheless, I am convinced that the truth will prevail regarding these horrific incidents, despite the denial efforts on the part of Ankara. The release of this book is proof that the truth cannot be concealed."

"The Tale Before Death" is yet to be translated into Armenian.
