Uruguay parliament organizes Armenian Genocide 86-th anniversary commemoration
By the initiative of Uruguay Armenian Cause Committee and the Central headquarters of Armenian Diocese of Uruguay, the parliament of Uruguay organizes a commemoration of Armenian genocide victims in the main hall of its building.
The chairman of the Uruguay parliament Goustavo Penades and representatives of the four parties represented in the parliament will deliver speeches in this respect.
Such a political event is the first in its kind in the modern history.
We'd like to remind that Uruguay was the first to officially recognize
the Armenian genocide in 1965.
