MOSCOW, April 24
Some 70 Armenians rallied at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow on Tuesday,
marking the massacre of Armenians in Istanbul in 1915.
The participants were demanding the return of the lands seized from Armenia
by the Ottoman Empire, as well the property located on these territories.
They also protested against the destruction of Armenian temples in Turkey.
The rally insisted that Turkey should officially apologize to the Armenian
people for the 1915 massacre, when 600 to 2,000 Armenians were arrested and
murdered overnight from April 23 to April 24.
The action was staged by Russia's Union of Armenians, the Russian-Armenian
friendship organization, and Moscow's Armenian Community.
