The Turkish Bi-Zonal Bi-Communal Federation The Turkish Bi-Zonal Bi-Communal Federation: A Conspiracy between AKEL,the British, and Turkey to destroy Hellenism. Only days after the brutal invasion of Cyprus on July 20, 1974 , the Turks in Geneva during hasty negotiations proposed two Federal solutions.
Both solutions were rejected by Greece's representatives and those of the Republic of Cyprus as being unacceptable. Turkey's attempt to manipulate the negotiations led to the breakdown. As a result of this stalemate , Turkey proceeded with the second invasion on August 14 1974 Since the brutal Turkish invasion . coincidentally indirectly supported by Britian through its inaction, all initiatives, be they American , British, Russianor under the auspices of the United Nations , promote as a <<just and viable>> solution for Cyprus the Turkish demand for a <<Bizonal Bicommunal Federal>> partition of the island. Even Cyprus' membership to the European Union has the bizonal bicommunal federal 'stigma' attached to it. Finally, the recognition of the de jure partition of Cyprus will therefore be promoted through the European Union. The basis for this solution was agreed to without the prior approval and consent of the Greek Cypriot people by the late Archbishop Makarios just before be died in 1977 with the support of the political parties AKEL and DESY. It was subsequently endorsed by Mr.S. Kyprianou his successor as the president of the Republic of Cyprus. Mr. S. Kyprianou also failed to seek the endorsement of the Cypriot people whose fundamental rights are at stake. Furthermore, the irony is that none of these leaders bothered to explain to the ordinary people of Cyprus the true origin of the Federal Bizonal and Bicommunal solution which they supported. It was evident that such a solution would not allow the Greek Cypriot refugees to return to their homes , while it would on the contrary help the Turks consolidate their presence on the island gaining federal control of the one part of the Republic. Bizonal Bicommunal Federation which was promoted during the mid 1950s (1955 onwards) by the British Foreign Office, Turkey and the Government House in Cyprus is profoundly a Turkish demand. As Nick Kounoupias from 'Lobby for Cyprus' wrote in his article " The Political Fallout from the Lozidou case" published in "The Cyprus Weekly", August 21-27, 1998: "...it is about time, too, that those members of our own community who try to tell the Greek Cypriots that they should accept the status quo and blindly swallow the attempts to partition the island, woke up...No refugee and/or landowner will surrender land to facilitate a bizonal, bicommunal settlement which will lead to the permanent division of Cyprus...Property exchanges and compensation offered to refugees as inducements in order to forgo and surrender their rights to their properties in the occupied part of Cyprus have, henceforth, absolutely, no validity whatsoever..."
