ANC Australia Welcomes Official Formation of Armenia-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group

SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia welcomes the
announcement today of the official formation of the Armenia-Australia
Parliamentary Friendship Group.
For more that 18 months ANC Australia has been working closely with The
Hon. Joe Hockey MP, Federal Minister for Financial Services and
Regulation and Member for North Sydney in helping to establish this
Parliamentary Friendship Group. These activities led to the public
announcement by the Minister Hockey during his keynote address at this
year's Armenian Genocide Commemoration of the initiative to set up this
Parliamentary Friendship Group.
"This historic announcement is greatly welcomed by the Armenian National
Committee of Australia, and by the Armenian-Australian Community as a
whole." said Dr Tro Kortian, President of ANC Australia.
"We like to convey our sincere appreciation and gratitude to The Hon Joe
Hockey for his initiative and dedication in making the Armenia-Australia
Parliamentary Friendship Group a reality, and to all the members of this
Parliamentary Friendship Group. We look forward to working closely with
Armenia-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group in developing even
closer ties between Armenia and Australia." Dr Kortian continued.
