The President of Republic of Poland Alexander Kvashnewski is the 13th and the last president who visited Armenia this year. Only 5 from those 13 presidents had not visited Tsitsernakaberd- those who within the circles of collective security agreement paid work visit to Armenia. The President of Poland who came with the state visit to Armenia with his wife paid homage to the innocent victims' memorial in Tsitsernakaberd. They were accompanied by Yerevan Mayor and Minister of Education and Science.

According to the order of the ceremony the President of Poland paid homage to the memorial of Genocide victims under the sounds of Poland hymn.

The reporters from Poland also visited the memorial in Tsitsernakaberd. The reporter of Poland Public Television Ivona Gondarska, who was aware of the history of Armenia well enough, became impressed from the simple and notable perfection of the Genocide memorial.

Ivona Gondarska, `I am astonished with the simplicity of the memorial- declined gravestones and no inscriptions. Though I know that the Armenians created their alphabet since the V century and here I don't see any inscriptions and there is no need in any word- whole Armenia keeps silence here. `The tears of Armenian nation after the Genocide weren't wiped away still', said our Pope John Paul II when came here, and I also bring my condolence and my heart is so wrung that I can't continue speaking anymore as the tears will follow.'

The photos of Genocide Museum and inscriptions reminded to Ivona Gondarska about Oswentsum documents. And the President of Poland thoroughly examined the list of the countries who had accepted the Armenian Genocide.

Alexander Kvashnewski, `The Genocide of 1915 is a fact and everything we see here today is reality. Being Pole we perfectly realize what we have seen and what those people felt, because there were such kind of tragic events in Poland during World II War. Poland was the place where German Nazis arranged Holocaust. We perfectly understand it, though it above the abilities of a normal man, but it really happened. I think that the most important thing for all of us is that those tragedies never happen again whenever and wherever it is.'

In the memory book of the Museum the President of Poland wrote down, `We feel the grief of Armenian genocide as deeply as they do, and I am sure that we shall never let such kind of tragedies, crimes and barbarism towards man and the nation whenever and wherever take place'.

According to the tradition the President of Poland also planted his fir tree in Tsitsernakaberd and invited Mrs. Kvashnewskaya to take part in that. The tree of Pole President had been planted near the tree of Roman Pope John Paul II, his compatriot. Having watered both trees the President of Poland ordered to take care of them.
