Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago The Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago and the Village of Skokie invite you to come and participate in its 22nd annual Skokie Festival of Cultures. With over 30,000 visitors expected, this is Illinois premier festival that celebrates and promotes more than 30 cultures, including Assyrian. Savoring exotic tastes, listening to the traditional sounds of variety of music, unique arts and crafts, children's games, business expo and a world marketplace bazaar and more than 30 cultural displays will be offered. Assyrians were one of the original culture from the very beginning of the Festival and celebrating their 22nd annual of their participation. The Assyrian Cultural Exhibition Booth will open on Saturday May 19th & Sunday May 20th, from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, sponsored by Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago and Mesopotamia Museum, and hosted by Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago. The opening Ceremony (raising flags) is on Saturday, May 19th at 1 PM. Don't be miss the Assyrian folk dance performance, performed by Folklore Dance Group of Assyrian American Civic Club of Chicago on Sunday, May 20th at 6:30 PM. Oakton Park is located at the corner of Oakton Street and Skokie Boulevard in Skokie, at 4701 Oakton St. The festival will begin at 11 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, ending at 7 p.m. A free shuttle will be available to deliver attendees to the Festival grounds from Oakton Community College at 7701 Lincoln Ave., on both days.
