Preparations are under way in Sydney — Australia for the 3rd Annual celebration of Assyria Day, by The Young Assyrians, the youth association of the Assyrian Universal Alliance Australian Chapter to be held on Sunday, June 30th, 2013. The day's activities will begin with The Assyria Day Conference which will be held at Nineveh Lounge and Reception Centre, located at 673 Smithfield Road, Edensor Park, NSW 2176, from 10:00am - 3:00pm. This event aims to highlight the rights of the Assyrian people. There will be 3 guest lecturers that will present on topics about Assyrians and the formation of a future Assyrian State. Admission to this conference will be by registration only. The Assyria Day activities will continue with the official celebration starting at 5:00pm at "Nineveh Reception" located at Nineveh Cultural Center. The event is open for all Assyrians. A special program is organised including speeches, folkloric dancing and special presentations organised by approximately one hundred students of the Assyrian Diglat School of the Assyrian Australian Association. Finally, at 8:00 pm a special entertainment function will be held at the Assyrian Charity & Educational Community located at 1677 The Horsley Drive, Horsley Park, with well-known Assyrian singers to celebrate this occasion.
This event aims to highlight the rights of the Assyrian people to safely return to their homeland, to affirm their rights to exist in harmony, peace and security with their neighbours by exercising the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and all other international conventions and treaties which emphasize refugees' right of return. It also supports the demands of the Assyrians in their pursuit of an autonomous federal province or state. Sunday, June 30th, 2013. 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

The Los Angeles chapter of the Assyrian Universal Alliance (AUA) will present the 3rd Annual Assyria Day festivities on June 30th, 2013 at the Assyrian American Association of Southern California, located at 5901 Cahuenga Blvd, North Hollywood, California 91601 USA. The festivities will begin at 6:30 PM and will be focused on highlighting the accomplishments of young Assyrians who have achieved success in their professional careers. The panelists for this event have been chosen for their success in the fields of Engineering, Entertainment, Fashion, Finance & Business, Healthcare, and Politics and Law. The panelists will discuss the steps required to be successful in above mentioned fields and answer questions from the audience regarding the career opportunities and the role their Assyrian heritage has played in their career development. The event's plan is to encourage the re-engagement of Assyrians in Los Angeles by showcasing successful Assyrians in different fields and provide mentorship opportunities for those in attendance. Assyria Day Festivities will conclude with discussions of the AUA Americas' Special Consultative Status at the United Nations as well as the presentation of the Distinguished Assyrian of Los Angeles Award, given annually to a member of the Assyrian community who has been very successful in his/her personal endeavors while maintaining an active role in the Assyrian community in Southern California.
