Mayors of Armenian and Greek capitals sign cooperation agreement

Yerevan, 22nd November: Yerevan Mayor Albert Bazeyan and Athens Mayor Dmitrus Stavranopolus today signed a protocol on friendship and cooperation between the capitals of Armenia and Greece.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Athens mayor spoke very warmly of the Armenian people, adding that the Armenian community of the Greek capital is an organic and integral part of Athens. Albert Bazeyan noted the importance of making use of the experience of Athens mayor's office to improve management of the mayor's office in Yerevan.

As a token of respect for the Armenian president and friendship with the Armenian people, the city council of the Greek capital awarded Armenian President Robert Kocharyan the gold medal of Athens.
