Armenian defence minister visits Greece Yerevan, Armenian Defence Minister Serzh Sarkisyan left for Greece on an official visit on the evening of 25 March, the information and publicity department of the Armenian Defence Ministry told Snark news agency today. The main subject of the Armenian-Greek negotiations will be about the implementation of and prospects for military cooperation between Armenia and Greece. During the visit, Serzh Sarkisyan and his Greek counterpart, Akis Tsokhatzopoulos, will examine issues of implementing joint defence programmes, discuss possibilities of expanding cooperation in the military training sphere and tasks of creating an Armenian peace keeping battalion within the framework of the United Nations.
Within the framework of the visit, the Armenian defence minister is expected
to meet top state and military leaders of Greece. The Armenian defence
minister will also pay a visit to the Greek academy of ground forces, where
he will meet Armenian students studying there.
